For years, I thought intimacy simply meant being together. After getting married and becoming a mother, I realized the people I loved most were longing to truly know me and I didn't know how to let them in.
Growing up, disagreement in my household created distance. I never learned how to have conflict with others and stay connected. My body learned that conflict was threatening. As a result, I found myself in one-sided relationships where I was the strong one, supporting everyone else while quietly feeling alone. I feared being vulnerable because I believed it might lead to conflict, rejection, or disconnection.
Everything changed when I began integrating psychology with my Christian faith. As I learned to calm my nervous system, confront shame with truth, and experience God as a place of safety, I found the courage to speak honestly and love more authentically. My relationships became deeper when I began to share my feelings and struggles.
I experienced a level of communion, belonging, and freedom that was so fulfilling.
For the past decade, I have been helping other women learn these same practical, biblically grounded tools so they can move from fear and shame to living with confidence, courage, and deeper connection with God and others. I created the course, Heal What Holds You Back, to make these principles even more accessible to women across the nation.
I earned my Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) from The Chicago School and my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Oral Roberts University, where I also minored in Pastoral Care.
